Aleph 2 LED Bars Illuminate TV Studios at 2011 Rugby World Cup and at London's Channel 4 News

Smart, High Power Light Bars Touted for Impressive Range of Color and Light Output

Television broadcasting companies are using ENTTEC Pty Ltd's new Aleph 2 LED bars to solve their complex lighting demands. ITV Sport recently chose the Aleph 2 fixtures to illuminate its outside broadcast studio at the 2011 Rugby World Cup in Auckland, New Zealand. BBC Studios extends the "Aleph Branch"

Cambridge, UK may be known as the site of one of the world's most venerable and respected institutions of higher learning, but it was a different kind of illumination that the BBC was looking for when they set out to build a new studio there to cover news items local to the area. On that set, a lot of special problems were posed, and the way things turned out, Enttec had the right answers.

The job included a number of standard-length Cool White LEDs (off the shelf units), which light up elements of the scenery for this news set. Enttec also made a custom firmware for the DIN LED4PX, which provided user-controllable parametric flickering that conformed to various real-world simulation effects. Along with those custom LED drivers, the BBC asked for custom lengths of Aleph 1 Series, under 4", with two RJ45 connectors to allow it plugging through.

Cross Timbers Community Church

Mike Ramsey of Double Oak Consulting recently completed a project for a client which is a fantastic application of ENTTEC LED technology. We provided Mike with several hundred feet of Aleph 1 series RGB strips as well as the constant voltage LED drivers. This allowed Mike to create a solution which greatly improves the visual impact of the worship services at Cross Timbers Community Church.

We asked him to explain some of what made this installation special. "For starters, approx 72 RGB strips were used at the base of the dome perimeter. The Aleph strips were mounted on 1x1x10' wooden strips with individual home run wiring runs back to the LED4PX's to keep voltage loss to a minimum. Nine LED4PX's were used for each side of the dome along with a 12V-25A Meanwell switching power supply. Each LED4PX was addressed individually to give the flexibility of individual control if required."

Showtime House

ENTTEC's Aleph 1 LED strips made their therapeutic lighting debut inside the 2010 Showtime House this fall. Three penthouses atop Manhattan's Cassa Hotel and Residences housed the 10 rooms transformed into the embodiment of the edgy cable network's dramatic series.

The bright, crisp Aleph 1 LED strips were used to create chromotherapy or color therapy within a bedroom inspired by Showtime's "The Big C": a new show starring Laura Linney, whose main character is living with terminal cancer.

AAMI Park

ENTTEC PTY LTD has over a decade of experience in working on lighting control for entertainment and architectural projects, culminating in a major role as a provider of cutting edge technology for a world-class sports venue's state-of-the art lighting requirements.

In each of the four corners of the stadium there is a single Datagate Mk2 plus five RDS8 splitters, all connected back to the control room via fiber data cable. The Datagate Mk2s convert Art-Net from the coolux Pandoras Box program into DMX that then feeds the LEDs via RDS8 DMX splitters.

ENTTEC's Datagate Mk2s run 1,544 LED luminaires in total, each with three-channel RGB control and on-board RDM with temperature monitoring. (ENTTEC was also involved in creating the RDM firmware for these fittings.)
